This remarkable replica of a Viking trefoil brooch with a depicting of gripping beasts in the oseberg style of the 9th century AD is made according to an original finding from Kaupang in Norway. The original of this trefoil brooch of the Viking Age is exhibited today in the Archaeological Museum in Bergen / Norwax and shows a great representation of the gripping beast in Oseberg style which was typical for the early Viking Age.
On the back of the trefoil brooch there is attached a stable needle that and as well an eyelet for fixing a chain. The diameter of the trefoil brooch is 6.5 cm. Made in bronze and also available in silver plated. Nickel free.
In the time of the Vikings the trefoil brooch was a characteristic jewelery in the garb of the Viking Age. The brooch was worn centered on the chest of the woman’s dress or was used to close lighter cloaks.
